FAQ'S for Tint and Lash Lifts

Brow and Lash Tint

Who should have their eyebrows tinted?
The best answer is: Everyone!  Why? Well, those with lighter hair will need their eyebrows tinted to make them darker (pop) even if it is just a shade darker, this will give you so much more definition and will pick up the finer, fluffy hairs to create a shape you never knew you had! This even applies for those with darker hair as well as they will have lighter, “fluffy”, hairs that will need tinting to achieve a more defined eyebrow shape. Even those with eyebrow tattoos will benefit from having their eyebrows tinted because it will refresh the color of the tattoo by refreshing the hair colors, making the eyebrows appear darker and more defined. If you miss that first week where your eyebrows are freshly tattooed then you will love having your eyebrows tinted! Tinting will ensure that the shape is beautifully defined, and the brows are more visible. Tinting will also help create that perfect frame for your eyes!

Which tint color is for you?
Your Esthetician choose will depend on how much hair you have, what kind of skin type you have, and also what look you are wanting to achieve. We welcome photos and collaboration. It can take a few sessions to really tweak and hone in on what works best.

Are there any side effects I should be concerned about?
A real concern for some is eye sensitivity and safety.  “If done by a well-trained and highly experienced esthetician or hair colorist who knows what they are doing, it’s absolutely fine,” dermatologist Jeannette Graf, MD, says. If you wear contact lenses, be sure to take them out before the procedure. We never use hair dye on lashes or brows; it’s too harsh, instead we use a formula and processing solution formulated for those areas.

I am pregnant or breast feeding, can I receive the service?
We prefer to wait till post pregnancy and breast feeding as the hormone surge makes the results unpredictable, it can take too quickly or not at all. There is also an increased risk for a chemical burn related to the processing cream we use.

The Difference Between Korean Lash Lifts and Traditional Methods:

Understanding the differences requires looking closely at the solutions used in each method. Traditional lash lifts typically rely on Thioglycolic Acid (TGA) solutions, while Korean lash lifts often use Cysteamine. It's important to remember that Korean lash lifts aren't universally suitable for everyone. Factors such as your natural lash type, the overall health of your lashes, and the technician's skill can all influence the outcome.

How We Choose the Right Method for You

Determining the best method for your lashes really depends on your unique needs. If you have sensitive or naturally fragile lashes or have previously faced damage from treatments, opting for a Traditional lash lift might be wiser. It sounds counter intuitive, we know. But here is why: The higher up the lash, the more delicate the hair is. Cysteamine products are gentle enough to saturate the whole hair, but applying this solution on fragile lashes can still be damaging to the hair. Its best in these cases to opt for the traditional method, and use a more gentle

Korean Lash Lifts vs Traditional Methods

Enhancing your natural beauty can be as simple as focusing on your lashes. A well-executed lash lift can bring your eyes to life and provide that effortlessly glamorous look we all desire. Recently, Korean lash lifts have surged in popularity, but do they truly deliver on their promises? And how do they stack up against traditional methods? The answer may surprise you: it’s both yes and no. Korean lash lifts might be more suitable for many, but we still advocate for the traditional method when it's best to do so. What should you consider, and how do you determine which technique is best for you? Let’s explore the differences and understand how we make the best choice for your lashes and desired preferences.

The Difference Between Korean Lash Lifts and Traditional Methods

Understanding the differences requires looking closely at the solutions used in each method. Traditional lash lifts typically rely on Thioglycolic Acid (TGA) solutions, while Korean lash lifts often use Cysteamine.  TGA solutions have been popular for years due to their effectiveness. They work by breaking down the disulfide bonds in the hair, allowing lashes to be reshaped. The results typically last between 8-12, depending on your lash growth cycle and diligent aftercare. In contrast, Cysteamine is a newer ingredient that has gained traction in the beauty industry. It is generally a lot gentler on lashes, however this depends on many factors. Many guests report that a Korean lash lift can last up to 8- 10 weeks, which still competes well with the traditional method. Korean Lash Lifts require the entire lash from root to tip to be saturated in the softening solution so that whole lash can be manipulated into a new shape. Whereas, the traditional method requires saturating only the base and roots of the lashes, giving it that "lash-curler" lift. It's important to remember that Korean lash lifts aren't universally suitable for everyone. Factors such as your natural lash type, the overall health of your lashes, and the technician's skill can all influence the outcome.
