Botox to smooth, illuminate, refine!

01 — BEFORE YOUR TREATMENT

Avoid medications that inhibit blood-clotting such as vitamin E, aspirin, or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs for seven days prior to treatment.

Schedule your Botox/Dysport appointment at least four weeks prior to a special event--such as a wedding or a vacation--to allow for best results, for any potential bruising/swelling to subside and for refinement where necessary.

As you prepare for your treatment, please notify Bumblebee of any changes to your medical history, health status, and personal activities that may be relevant to your treatment. Reschedule your appointment at least 24 hours in advance if you do not feel well.

02 — DAY OF TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS

Arrive at your appointment with a clean face—please do not wear makeup. You may bring your own makeup to apply after your Botox treatment, but please note that we strongly advise you not to apply makeup for several hours after injection.

The procedure includes multiple fine needle injections and mild discomfort. Tenderness can last for a few hours or a few days.

Redness and swelling similar to a mosquito bite is normal for 5-15 minutes after treatment. Some mild bruising may also occur.

If you experience any excessive swelling, bleeding or discoloring after your treatment, do not hesitate to reach out to our team.

Do not perform activities involving straining, heavy lifting, or vigorous exercise for the remainder of the day after treatment in order to ensure the neuromodulators do not migrate outside of the injected area.

03 — POST TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS

Do not massage or manipulate injected areas for 24 hours after injections. Wash your face gently and use a light touch when applying make-up.

Avoid using a Clarisonic facial cleanser, having a facial, placing your face in a massage cradle, or lying face down in a chiropractor’s chair for 24 hours following the injection. If you are uncertain about the time frame between these activities and your treatment, ask your provider.

Do not rest your head or lie down for four hours following treatment. This will ensure the product will not spread into the orbit of your eye, which could cause a drooping eyelid in rare instances.

If you have had injections in the upper face, do not wear a headband or hat if the band extends across your forehead.

If bruising appears, gently apply a cool compress to the area.

The most common side effect of Botulinum Toxin A injections is a headache, which may be treated with Tylenol. If you are a chronic headache sufferer and have a prescription headache medication, you may take it as prescribed by your doctor.

You will receive an email from our team immediately after your treatment recapping these post-treatment instructions.
